Auto Glass Repair/Replacement

Many years ago, when your windshield was chipped or cracked, it meant there was no other option other than replacement. Fortunately, technology has improved greatly and that’s no longer the case. Windshields can be repaired that would have been replaced in the past.

Not only will this save your windshield, but it will also save you a lot of money. We must be aware that even the most progressive auto glass repair procedures have their limits as well. If your windshield happens to be severely chipped or cracked, you may have to completely replace it.

Deciding if you must replace or repair the windshield completely depends upon the size, location and severity of the damage. Usually, we can repair chips and crack either the size of a quarter or up to three inches long. Anything that is bigger or longer than that will likely require a replacement.

Location plays a big part in the decision as ell. If your windshield cracks at the edge, it will tend to spread vigorously and can harm the structure of the auto glass. Depending on how quickly you catch the chip or crack will determine if the windshield needs repair or replacement.

Sometimes, it is smarter to repair the windshield if a chip is in the driver’s line of vision. The repair process leaves minor alterations in the glass so it is in the driver’s best interest to replace the windshield to ensure their vision is not compromised. Regardless of the size and location of the chip/crack, we always recommend repairing it as quickly as possible!
